Outdoor air is cleaned regularly by Mother Nature. Thunderstorms, lightning, and ultraviolet energy from the sun continually clean the outdoor air.
However, our indoor air is filled with pollutants that adversely affect our health. Nearly every home in the Midwest is host to a vast array of pollutants including building materials, adhesives, cleaning chemicals, disinfectant sprays, deodorizers, insecticides, paints, stains and the list goes on.
To compound the issue, we’ve “tightened up” our homes to conserve energy so much that now we’re “locking in” these pollutants which make the effects even worse. The Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) states that our indoor air environment can be between 2 – 5 times and up to 100 times worse than the worst outside air.
